Do you install Liberty grinder pumps?
Yes — Liberty's grinder range is our usual recommendation for big households that have been chewing through ordinary sewer pumps. We supply and install the right unit for the pit and pipe run, then commission the pump, floats, non-return valve and alarm as one job. When is a grinder pump worth it over a vortex pump?
A vortex pump passes solids whole — which works fine until the solids are rag and wipes, which tangle rather than pass. A grinder shreds them into a slurry the pump moves without complaint. If your pit has blocked once in five years, a vortex unit is probably fine. If you're on first-name terms with whoever unblocks it, the grinder pays for itself in callouts you stop making.
My pump keeps blocking every few months — what's going on?
Almost always, the pump and the household are mismatched. Wipes — including the so-called flushable ones — sanitary items and heavy use will jam an ordinary vortex impeller again and again, and no amount of unblocking changes that. The pattern is the diagnosis: a pump that blocks on a schedule needs a grinder, not another visit. We'll confirm it on site and quote the upgrade on the day.

We check the pit, the head and the pipe run first — if anything needs changing, you'll know before we start, not after.
