A two-stage pump for genuine high head
Most submersibles in a domestic pit are single-stage — fine when the pump only has to lift waste a few metres to the sewer. But some sites don't have that luxury: a low-lying property, a long run uphill to the main, a basement well below street level. Once the duty asks for 50 metres of head or more, a lot of pumps simply can't deliver it.
Saber's two-stage design is built for exactly that. A second impeller stage adds the pressure a single-stage pump can't, so the unit keeps moving waste reliably at heads that would stall an ordinary pump. On the high-head jobs we see around Sydney, it's sometimes the only pump that suits the duty — one of the few that holds that lift alongside the Liberty high-head range.
That doesn't mean a Saber belongs everywhere. Where the head is modest, a single-stage pump is the right call and we'll tell you so. But where a property genuinely has to push hard and high, a correctly sized Saber is a pump we're glad to install — and one we'll happily service and repair to keep it running for the long haul.

My Saber is tripping the safety switch — what's wrong?
Usually current finding a path it shouldn't, through damp or damaged cable or a wet motor. We megger the motor and cable under our Restricted Electrical (Motors) endorsement to find exactly where the leak is, rather than just resetting the breaker. If it's a damaged section of cable there may be a path back; if the windings are wet, we'll say so plainly.
